I am sure this has been discussed, but I wanted to get feedback on some towing I will be doing. First, 2005 mariner, 4 cyl, 50k miles, just added hitch (no tow package). Will be towing an empty 30 foot aluminum double axle boat trailer with surge brakes for about 600 miles. Trailer weight is around 1200 lbs. Any thoughts or concerns? I have flushed the CD4E tranny twice, around 20k then again around 45k with standard mercron (not mercron V).

I wouldn't be driving that thing around if it's windy. A light short wheelbase vehicle with a wheeled barn door attached? Sheesh! Could get mighty hairy at times... :worry: :worry: :worry:

boat trailers dont act like sails.. well when they are empty. the only reason you know there are there is cause they usually rattle like crazy when empty
