Well, sorta. I'm looking for something smaller because I'm going to college next year and I want better gas mileage, and I use absolutely no feature specific to an SUV on my own so I feel all that space is unnecessary and just makes me pay more money for gas, especially when I know gas prices are going to get higher again this summer.
As some of you know who've seen my post in the picture section, my mom has an '02 silver Tribby, and I have an '05. My mom loves mine, of course, so we're selling hers and she's taking mine, while I get a new car.

So my mom and I were looking around and I fell in love with the Mazda3 model, so I'll still technically be in the Ford family :D Found a great used 2007 with less than 15k miles for under $13k, so we picked that one!

There's a generic stock photo I pulled off a website that's my color. All 3 of the cars I've had now have been blue, I quite fancy it :D We're picking the Mazda3 up on Monday or Tuesday.

No worries, I will never have a bad word to say about Tributes. I love love SUVs and I am sad I will not be driving one anymore, but overall a smaller car just fits me and my needs better. In the time that we've had my mom's (little under a year and a half) and mine (little over six months), they've both been mechanically solid, easy and fun to drive, and I still love the styling over the Escapes.
Cheers!

Thanks Colleen!! And of course I will stay. The Mazda3 forum I found is full of riced-out supercharged Mazdaspeeds

I had the same disappointment at the Escort and Lancer forums.

"Hey how do I replace the fuel pump?" "Don't know, but here's how to get rimzz and subzzzzzz instead!!1" :hyst:

At least they weren't as quick to slap on a big spoiler as the Civic folk seem to be. :bang:

I think I've got you covered with Mazda3 service manuals...although I wouldn't know of the common problems like an actual owner might.

Gotta do what you gotta do.
Glad you are staying in the City, though. Looking forward to pics of your new ride!

Hello spark757. Congratulations on the new car. All the mazdas are quite popular down under. I see a lot of different models being driven. :) Whenever a service is done, the mechanic puts a mazda oil filter on my escape. :)

Haha, uh, edit...
my mom & dad decided we don't have the extra money to pay the difference between selling my mom's Tribby and buying the Mazda3, so out goes the new car for me! But that's okay, I do  MY Tribby :) No complaints here!

Still driving a Tribute, eh?

Worse things in life. Besides, you might need that extra little bit of cargo in the back! Always be prepared is a good thing! Just ask the Boy/Girl Scouts, Martha Stewart... :peace:

What kind of mileage are you getting in the Tribby? You should be able to get it up to 22 MPG or so, which isn't too painful on the wallet.

I don't really have that much to complain about, but I don't have a job since I'm still in high school and trying to concentrate on getting into college. I usually get 20-21 mpg but most of my driving is just to school and around town. Nothing really highway except for about 5 of my 15 minute drive to school.

And yeah, Jonas, the extra room is sure to come in handy sometime soon.

Glad you kept it!
If I keep my foot out  I see about 25 on the highway, which is fine, especially since my buddy's VW gets about the same highway. He beats me in the city as I get a painful 18 or so around town. That said, I should probably look into training my right foot before I look into trading cars.

Trust me...when you are in college you will love the extra room when you need to cram like 10 people into the Tribby or when you go tailgating...it's nice to have the back area to sit on. You won't be disappointed ;)
