Hello all,

My Tribute's transmission has devoloped a hard shift between 2nd and 3rd gear within the past 6 months.
At around 50kph the tranny will clunk into 3rd (or the T/C locks, im not too sure)
When the tranny is stone cold it shifts smoothly, but when it heats up then it starts to shift funny.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this problem? I have had it flushed 30,000kms ago and have just done a drain and fill.

I've heard that if I replace the "soliniod?" within the tranny then this may help.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

as an "electronically adaptive transmission" that "learns" your driving style, suggest that you disconnect the battery for an hour and have it "re-learn" how you drive. It might just go away.

P.S. - what year, and what fluid are you using?

Thanks for the reply prowler.

I am using Mineral Mobil Mercon fluid.

I will disconect the battery terminal now for when I go out in a few hours and post the results.
