Hi H4XOR,

If you could offer some intel on the sunroof deflector I would appreciate it. I've been searching and have read or been told that sunroof deflectors do not fit the Escape due to the satellite antenna. Your pictures proved that to be not so true. Mind you most of the research was referring to a different company (WT) not AVS. The other tidbit I was told today by WT was that if the deflector is installed less than 2" from the antenna the deflector can cause interference with the Sat radio. Can you shed some light on this for me. Personally I would rather have the deflector than satellite but a buddy also with an Escape likes the satellite radio. Last one: Can or do you feel that you could remove the deflector and tape without damaging the paint surface.

Many thanks

All the research I did said it wouldn't fit as well.. but when I got my Escape I looked and it seemed like there would be just enough room, so I said "eh, for $35... I'll give it a shot." I never heard that it had to be 2 inches from the sat. antenna though.. I listen to the satellite radio almost every day and don't really have a problem other than the occasional cut out for a half second that is common in both my other vehicles with satellite radio in them - usually going under trees, and going through tunnels and under bridges of course. Then again, a lot of the time it still even works in my garage!

Also, with the "stick-on" model like I have, you can position it as far back or forward as you like, since there aren't any clamps. If you're considering I model with the clamps, that might set it too far forward and the sat. antenna would get in the way. I'm not really sure since I haven't tried this.

I'm confident that I could remove it cleanly if I wanted to, I've debadged multiple vehicles (including my Escape) with that industrial strength tape holding them on as well as remove ventvisors that stick on the outside of the doors with no problems.

I'd rather have 100 crappy stations and a quiet ride! :)
