These are obviously night time shots. It is very dark because i had the zoom lens on. Had to stay a good distance away. Once again it was fortunate, that statue is lit up.

Also i used the opposite side of road street light. As it was ,had to rely on the camera built in flash. Ideally i would like to have a Nikon " SB800 Speedlight".

The darkness ,is possibly annoying for some people. If this be so, please excuse my errors. Anyway ,my actual subject is that statue.

Only a hobby, so i am doing the best i can with available equipment.

For these two shots, i am nowhere near the statue. Basically a considerable walking distance.

I agree. It makes the eye stay focused on the main subject; the war memorial. Nice pics, Stone. Thanks for sharing them.
