I'm rather new to the forum. I've just taken delivery on my new 2011 Escape LTD 4wd (this past Friday). I was looking at the Weathertech site and noticed they don't have the digitally fit ones for my model year.

Anyone know if there is a difference between the 2010/11?

No difference. Physically, the 2010/11 Escapes are identical in every way. For 2011, the only change was the addition of HD Radio on all models.

 

I just ordered a set of black digital-fit ones for my '05. They'll be ready for pick up in a couple of days.

I wish I had them last weekend when we went to a farm.....where my wife managed to track fresh, unprocessed...um....fertilizer....into my (what used to be) really, really clean Escape. :doh: At least the smell is gone. Next time, we are taking HER minivan.

I have a 2011, and it has a different style attachment for the drivers side floor mat than the photo on page 2 of this thread shows of Schufitz's '09. I have 2 round grommets instead of 1 hook. The Weathertech would not be able to be secured in my 2011. (Canadian model XLT-4cyl).

I ended up buying them either way. I don't think they really need to be retained given the shape and structure of the floor mat. I'm really enjoying them!

 

I've got the same experience with mine. Just something to be aware of. Those suckers aren't going anywhere.

Installed the Weathertech floor liners a couple of months ago and find they fit and work great. The only problem is the hook hole on the drivers side. Water gets in through this hole and the hook makes pulling the mat out to drain difficult. Has anyone found any problems with cutting off the hook and filling in the hole? I know the Ford legal department will advise against this, but I've never had a problem with migrating floor mats before.

They are working on them. They've completed the design, and they're getting their tooling/production setup for the changes. The estimated time frame I got from WeatherTech is about 6 weeks. It's not a firm date, but they will be here before too long.

If anyone else does, those mats come out. (Suck on that, legal counsel.)

I have had the same problem with the hole in the mat, but I dont hook it hole and when I get a chance I will seal the hole so there wont be any leakage when the mat is full with water and muck.

Yep, concurring with that. What I meant to convey is that the hook issue is easy to work around.

 

Why do you need to remove the hook? Why not just squeeze a little bit of RTV in there around the hook to seal off the hole? That way, you don't have any drip through, and your mats don't move.

Honestly, I don't see why it would drip through - it appears that the height of the rubber around this hole is the same height at the outside edges of the mat.

 

If I put sealant around the hook, then I can't remove the mat to dump out the salt, slush, water, etc. If I just seal the hole, the hook might push the sealant up through if weight is applied. I'm going to set the mat on top of the hook until the weather improves. I'll see what happens in the meantime. But pushed down on the hook, water does sometimes get in. Try doing a lot of errands in a snowstorm and then drive up a hill.

 

In reference to removing the salt crust and stains from the carpeting,
I mix up a bucket of warm water and white vinegar and the solution
eats the salt and gets them clean. Don't bother with a can of salt
remover.... Waste of $$$.
