Ha. What I found this weekend on my 3 hour trip to Galena, IL and back (from Chicago) is that by deflecting the "bugs" it accelerates the impact of the bugs that do hit the windshield. So the old windshield wiper spray trick won't get them off. Oh well. When you're going 80mph there's not a whole lot you can do.
