Ok so Im calling this the "What do you want to do" to your escape/ford/whatever you have in 2010. Whether it be you wish to have a rear spoiler installed to a i dont know a 6 inch lift.

I want to customize a 2.3l turbocharging system off a mazda cx-7 to fit the escape...

Hmm. First I want to celebrate my Escape's 9th birthday in April. Then I want to make it through another year without any major repairs/issues. My wife wants me to buy a new one. I want to keep driving this one until it can't go any further. If I'm still driving it 5 years from now, I'll be happy. :shades:

If I could find some spare cash, and those seat covers again, I wouldn't mind converting my cloth seats to leather. I remember someone making leather covers from the original patterns and maybe charging $300 for them.....

I've got a few things I really want to do to my escape...

Tint the front windows to match the rest of them
Switch from cloth to leather seats (preferrably black)
get some sound dampening material on the doors
paint parts of the interior door panels, just so it doesnt look like a solid piece of plastic
Remove rear bench seat and have buckets all the way around.
and maybe lowering springs, but then again, I have to use the escape in the winter.

I'm thinking of installing some dyna mat, or similar sound deadner to quiet the road noise. The Tribute is our long distance machine, and on some surfaces the tires are noisey. :(

I'll be moving the double DIN DVD HU from my '07 stang into the Escape (selling the stang to help pay for a Shelby CS6 conversion on my '05 stang) in the spring. If time & money allows I'd like to add a command start & some window tint.

I want to....

-Purchase and install the MTX thunderform enclosure
-Solve my dimming lights problem, most likely a new battery will do the trick
-Replace my blower motor to solve my squeaky fan problem
-Clean up my audio install with some cable management
-Have this cold go away so I do all these things and throw on a coat of wax!

I just got my 2010 Limited 2 weeks ago... so far I've ordered:
Backup Sensors
Chrome Nerf Bars
Stainless / Chrome Mesh Grill Inserts
LED's for the license plate
Chome / amber front turn signal bulbs
LED's for the high brake light
Black Decals for both front/rear logos
Trailer Hitch
some other misc stuff I'm probably forgetting....

I've installed the bulbs (all) and the backup sensors...

LOVE LOVE LOVE when the big brown truck comes by! lol

I'd like to get clear or LED tail lights. I've been searching but can't seem to find any yet. I really like the mariner tail lights...
Considering wheels... once I finish these "mods"

To convert my high , plus low beam lights to HID technology.
My service tech mentioned, PHILLIPS have a conversion kit for the escapes. :yahoo:

Also i am keen on replacing , my current ' NITE STALKER ' spotlights for 'NARVA' spotties.
This depends on my job security.
The bosses notified me, to wait and see how things progress next year.

Still currently on holidays. Resuming work this monday.
Feel so relieved i did not, trade the escape in for another car.
Would have been in a thorough mess.

So henceforth that HID conversion, shall have to be a backburner project.

Well, the first thing I need to do is petition for shorter winters and longer years! That, and a bigger paycheck.

Since those will sail like lead balloons, call this a multi-year list:

  • Take care of the rust on the bottoms of the doors and other places.[/*]
  • Replace my eDead sound deadening with Sounddeadener Showdown stuff.[/*]
  • Install a whole new audio system. Have a SoundStream RUB5.800 amp and just pre-ordered the Stereo Integrity BM mkIII that fourthmeal posted about. The sub will be in a false floor. Still need headunit and speakers.[/*]
  • New shocks since the current ones are probably the originals. Will probably go with the KYB GR2 (I think that's what they're called).[/*]
  • New exhaust. Thinking of going with Gibson since I like the sound.[/*]
  • Better seats! Not a huge fan of the vinyl on there now.[/*]
  • LEDs for the interior lighting and dash.[/*]
  • Probably much, much more! :D [/*]

Your doing shocks this year? How many miles do your have on your originals? I know mine are originals and I have 143,000 should I be thinking about doing mine?

I want to put new shocks on at some point, but when that happens I don't really know. I have a bit over 87,000 miles on mine now. I'm pretty sure I also need to replace the sway bar links, too. It'll be fun getting all those rusted nuts and bolts off.

It really depends on time and (mostly) money. Actually, what I'd really, really like to do this year is pay off the Escape completely, so I'd have no problem putting everything on my list off until that happens.
