I have a clunking problem under my left foot when I drive. Here's a picture of the carnage under there and a picture of the unproblematic right side for comparison. Can anyone tell me what this is and how much it would be to repair?

That is the lower arm bushing which is worn and gives you those thundering knocks.
You have two choices:
Have the bushing only changed or the whole lower arm, which I recomend, since there are other bushing involved as well. With labour included, the bushing change will set you back around $100 while the whole lower arm might cost you about $200.
Are you living in a state with lots of snow and ice?

I changed out both of my lower control arms this spring. They are complete with both bushings, a new ball joint and a new pinch nut and bolt (each side is complete and ready for assembly).

It took me about 45 minutes per side and I purchased both (as a set) on eBay for $155 delivered.

Nice to know, I think that's my 'crying' part isn't it (those that replied to that thread thanks again!)

But I think mine's just wet, not in need of replace yet.
