For those of you who don't know, Wifey and I have been in Charleston, SC a great deal lately. The reason for the latest visit was to perform a cystoscopy. I am not going to discuss what that procedure is but there is a link on WebMD that does a much better job. http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/cystoscopy-16692

I have had a medical condition known as a urethral stricture three times. It is basically a "clogged drain pipe" if you will, and they went in with "RotoRooter" and cleaned it out some.

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/MEDLINEPLUS/ency/article/001271.htm

Today's procedure is not the final treatment. There will be more to come.

I hope this post doesn't offend anyone.

I did get some more Percoset to help with the pain. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

More later. I want to express my appreciation to all those who sent good wishes.

CB, another helping of good wishes from the cold NorthEast. I hope all goes well, and that you can at least compensate with some more of that good Charleston cuisine. :thumb: :peace:

Hope things work out for you Chuck. ;)

My Brother knows a similar pain. He's been off work for 3 months with bad kidney stones. For some reason they don't want to cut him open and pull them out, so last week he went in and had a plastic tube fitted "down the spout", if you get me.

Apparently, they're gonna blast the stones and the plastic tube means they should pass with less pain and no "damming the stream".

We can't fathom why it's taking them so long to deal with it. It's a joke.

He's 31 and this is the 2nd time he's had stones (first time wasn't as bad as this time), but nobody is able to tell him what the cause is.

Hi Charles :hi:

It has now been a couple of days since your procedure. How are you feeling ?

Colleen
Actually, I came through the procedure very nicely. Very little pain. Only had to take Percoset for two days including the day of surgery.

This was an intermediate procedure. The urologist who did the surgery had to take a look for himself.

There will be another surgery in my future in the next month or so where the "final fix" will be made. This next surgery will be a "buccal mucosa urethroplasty".

After the "final fix", you will be able to get on with your life, and all of this will be in the past. I will be praying that the 'final fix" goes well for you !!
