The compass and temp gauge will stay no matter the HU change.

All good things have a price. If you order a HU from Crutchfield, you can get 50% of of that harness price. But I didn't and spent the cashola. To me spending $330 to NOT have any cut wires, retain steering wheel controls and keep my Sync was worth it. But you have to decide for yourself....

The Axxess AFSI-01 I originally purchased may work if you have the factory base radio (non-amplified, non-sub). Save $100 if it works...

Here: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_143 ... SI-01.html

If you get the Axxess one though and you get the PAC-SWI - you most likely need to splice in and solder a resistor for the SWI to work. The good thing about my harness is that the PAC-SWI plugs directly in - no splicing, no running of power/ground and no resistor. Just plug and go.

Also get the updated PAC-SWI: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_180 ... I-PS-.html. This one has the newer programming that works with newer buttons.

Cheaper at Sonic Electronics: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_221 ... -FRD1.html. Nobody had them except PAC direct when i needed mine. If you search you can probably find them cheaper...
