Can windshield wipers be reprogrammed ?

The addition delayed swipe of the wipers is annoying. Can the computer be flashed to stop the extra swipe ?

I've been wondering this recently. My mom's leased Edge has an option (through the 'beloved' dashboard, and not MyTouch, thankfully) to stop the "courtesy swipe", as they call it. If it's not in the manual, it's probably a dealership reprogramming deal.

I'm not a fan of "courtesy swipe" either. Even though I know its coming, I swear it waits until I "forget" then it swipes again and catches me off guard. I'm pretty sure it's said "gotcha" once as well.... :shrug:

This is sort of related because it uses the same lever, but I really wish my Escape had the 3-flash turn signals. My Mazda3 had this feature and I miss it a bunch.

I didn't think it was necessary until I had a car with the feature. Now that I don't have it, it feels like something is missing. I do a lot of highway driving so it comes in handy. To each their own!

I guess I'm just used to locking the signal since I'm usually waiting longer than three ticks to do a full lane change... :lol:
