I'm trying to figure out what the wire colors equate to that are going into a 2007 factory amp.

There are 5 wires:

Red/yellow stripe - I think this is the power wire - but is it 5v or 12v??
Black/green stripe - I think this is the ground wire
grey/black stripe - ???
light blue/red stripe - ???
green/black stripe - ???

Anyone able to help me identify what these wire colors go to?

My assumption would be that maybe one is the remote turn on and the other 2 are the + and - input wires. But, not sure which are which. The light blue/red strip and green/black stripe are side by side and the grey/black stripe is located next to what I think is a ground wire.

Lilblue,

You don't by any chance have the diagram for a 2010 escape radio? I got a 2010 radio for my 2009 and have a 2007's factory sub. I just need the sub pin out from the radio. I'm just not sure which of the three wire are what. Pretty sure I know which is the remote on, but not sure which is the + and -. If you have Amit and are able to post it, I'd be greatful.

Thank you so much! I didn't realize you were getting them from Autozone. They looked like the Ford Service pages. Now I feel like an idiot since I could have went there to get them...

But thank you again!

OK, so I wired the 2007 stock sub and amp (amp had the plug on it still with about 2 feet of wire) to a sub repair harness (has the female plug end with wires coming out of it to allow rewiring/repair). I added it to the 2010 radio I got in eBay from a wrecked escape that had the sub out plug (as well as the sirius built in, which was something else I wanted).

The sub worked perfectly, for about 2 days. Then yesterday it quit working. The amp still gets warm as if it's on (and I checked with a multimeter that it is still getting power). Rechecked all of the wire connections with the radio on to make sure that nothing was loose. I'm at a loss.

Nothing was wired incorrectly. The + went to +, - went to -, and the power was run directly from the battery (with a 20A in-line fuse - that is not blown) and grounded to a common ground point. I don't know why was working before and is now not.

Anyone have any ideas as to what happened or what to check? My only guess is that it could be something in the radio or something with the sub amp. I'm just disappointed. I've been trying to upgrade my base mariner to be a premier as I can and I only have a few things left to add to complete that. This has been stumping me for 2 days now.

Figured it out. It was simply a bad power wire connection. It wasn't loose, but, somehow it wasn't completely connected.

What I did was replaced my head unit with one from a wrecked 2011 escape that had the sirius module built in and the sub out port. Got the metra 71-5520-1 harness (but didn't follow the wiring diagram that came with it - it was wrong) so that it could plug into it.

Found a sub from a wrecked mariner that had the amp and the wire harness to the amp (wires were cut) with the connector to the amp. Ran a power wire (with 20A fuse) from the battery to the amp, ran a ground, and lastly connected the positive, negative, and remote turn on wires from metra plug to the amp. Turned the radio on and it fired right up.

Now I have a completely factory audiophile speaker install in the vehicle - which is what I wanted. I'm happy. :)

It is the same as the one posted above, the connector at the sub:
pin 1 - grey/black is enable (5v)
pin 2 - black/light green (ground)
pin 5 - red/yellow (12v constant battery)
pin 7 - light green/black (audio +)
pin 8 - light blue/red (audio -)

I picked up a factory sub with amp or my 2010 Ford escape. I kinda figured out what wires is what on the amp. 5v trigger, 12v power with 20 amp fuse, but the audio signal is it a high input or low input? Best place to tap it from????? Back of the radio or the rear speakers? Thank peeps.
