Dressing up an 05 Limited

Postby Ianmark - September 4th, 2014, 8:55 am

This is my Escape, it's an 05 Limited, everything is stock.

I want to dress it up a bit as I find it a bit boring. My problem is that in this color I find the Escape is quite classy looking,
so I do not want to go the 'off road' route, but keep it as a 'night on the town' Escape.

I am thinking that chrome will be the best fit. Possibly a chrome bull bar and chrome tail light covers.

Any ideas?

Thank you for the compliment.
I was thinking of a chrome dress up kit like this, but I'm not too sure how it would look.
The mirror is chromed down to the base, but I would paint that the same as the body, so it should look good.

I love the wide tires on this Escape.

Any idea how wide can I go? Obviously I would need new wheels with a different off set, or some spacers.

I would have said add a roof basket but it seems as though you don't have roof racks or cross rails :? I figured the limited would have them. Also, plastidip your wheels maybe.

Actually, I do have the base of the roof rack, just the cross rails are missing. I got the Escape like that and
was waiting till I decided if I wanted the 'No Boundaries' version of the roof rack or not. Anyway, I've decided to go stock.

A night on the town type of E is always nice on the eyes. Personally I'm not a fan of the chrome off road accessories such as bull bar, light covers, etc. Perhaps to start you can get a chrome grill insert, HID's for the headlights (and fogs if you have them), some type of simple altezza tail lights, and some nice subtle chrome wheels. I wouldn't mind the chrome handles or the mirror covers. Not big on the window sills either.

I wanted to do the same when I started with mine, however, about half way through I changed my mind and went with a more "rugged" look simply due to the fact that mine was an xls and half the car was grey trim. You can always change the way you want it to look with paint accessories and little tweaks. Good luck with whatever you choose! Post pics of your progress for us to ogle over

I think I am going this way, just chrome door handles and possibly body color mirrors. Chrome wheels are a must,
if I can find some in my price range (cheap that is). I'm going to look around for a chrome grill that looks nice also.

I know this is super old.. but about chrome handles... do you think chrome handle covers.. or actual chrome handles?

Covers are pretty cheap... handles are made of plastic.. but chrome. So same as covers i guess????

Obviously handles are more expensive.. but looking for a long lasting finish
