Front bumper installation

I just installed a set of halo headlights and I cannot get the front bumper to snap back into the brackets for the life of me. There isn’t any apparent damage to the bumper or brackets, I’ve looked at every escape bumbler video in existence, and I’ve even resorted to the service manuals to no avail.
