Adding cruise control to a 2005 2.3 with manual trans?

Is it possible to add cruise control ("speed control") to a 2005 xls 2.3 with manual trans? It did not come with it. Could it be as simple as buying the buttons and plugging in a harness into the (crooked) steering wheel? (Thanks previous owner...)

While it wasn't standard, it was available in the 66B Convenience group, so it should be possible to add, but it is much more than just the wheel, it has a servo/actuator, and not sure how much of the required wiring exists, clock spring, etc.

It looks like the 05-07 wheel could be modified to add the switches. It would be easier to swap with one that has the cruise control buttons on it already. The clock spring is probably the same as it has to be present for the horn button and the airbag. That is probably the easiest part. Then you have to figure out how to wire up the servo. And finally enable Speed Control in the PCM. These threads should help a little:
