Added DRL's and changed OLM on 08 Hybrid.

Postby Jay2TheRescue - January 31st, 2017, 6:42 pm

So, I bought an OBDII adapter. Just tried it out this afternoon. Worked perfectly. With ForScan I enabled the DRL's on my 08 Hybrid. I also rooted around to see what other stuff I could change. I was able to change the Oil Life Monitor from 7,500 miles/6 months to 10,000 miles/1 year as the manual calls for. SUCCESS! Now I don't have to keep track of it, I can rely on the OLM. The whole thing about the Amazon ad saying it is not compatible with hybrids was phooey.

I also ran a bunch of tests, and the only thing that came up with was a 4x4 fault, but that's to be expected because I have 4wd disabled right now. Overall I'm really happy with it.

Say thank you to logrus, nikolna, myself and some other Russian Escape owners for digging out lots of Escape-specific CAN bus stuff and reporting it back to FORScan developers :)

I'm not sure if that is available in Forscan Lite. I have the full version running on my laptop.

Full version + for some settings full license is required. To get it you need to be registered on forscan forum + submit special form.

Btw, didn't get what is global window hack. Sort of joke, or you're doing smth with windows going up/down?

When you have Global Windows enabled, if you continue to hold the lock button on the remote when locking the vehicle, all windows will close. If you unlock the vehicle, and then hold the unlock button, all windows will open.

Please make a write-up for how you changed the OLM.
I have not found a good guide yet.

It was a "baked in" hack available in the full version of ForScan.

Has anyone been able to get "Global windows" to work on a Gen 2?
