Started a new second job, less time and only a bit more "play" money, work hard for a few more years and phase two starts, lol

That said, I am seriously curious as to why Ford ditched amber rear turn signals between 2008 and 2012, only to bring them back in 2013... even if they just used a red bulb, but still a separate bulb, i could work with that, but no, one combi bulb. They obviously designed the tail light for an amber turn signal then closed the hole in production. I'm playing with several ideas, and have a cheap scrap tail light to mess with.

I'm thinking of using two amber led heads, one in the top and bottom clear sections, just like my reverse lights. This increases visibility and the draw should be enough to avoid using a resistor.

Depending on how the scrap light pulls apart I may do led light strips in red and amber tied to brake/running and turn signals respectively, but i think that may be too much.

Right now I am panning on using a trailer converter, I need to bench test it fully but is supposedly takes a combined turn brake signal and splits it, in theory it should work with the only draw back being that hazards will flash red.

Damn, I'm tired... :bill:

Man, you've given this a lot of thought :thumb: I'm not sure what the deal is with the 2nd gen Escape turn signals being amber/red. I'm guessing it has to do with amber being the law in most countries, but for whatever reason unpopular in the US and the Escape/Tribute/Maverick/Kuga platform being universal.

I personally think amber is way safer and better looking, but I guess I'm in the minority. I'm always looking to Asia for more aftermarket accessories for our Es, because they seem to be very popular there especially in the Philippines and Thailand, but have yet to find custom 2nd gen tail lights.

Good luck with your project, we'll all be watching :thumb:

Its been two weeks.

I'm trading the old Amber LED lights for the Blue/Amber & Clear/ Amber LED lights for the lights I need for the turn signals.

Still want to do the exhaust, meatloafmountain did a great walkthrough

Still want to replace stocks & struts, wile upgrading to the H&R lift ( removing the 1.5 blocks )

Cleaned the tires, black magic works wonders...

Thanks guys, that gd stupid tow ready taillight converter is pissing me off, it is eradic *s****. Test it directly on the tow harness with a tow harness check light. Works perfectly, I hook it up to the light heads and only the right works, brake only lights the right...

It's just stupid how it doesn't want to work.

Hi there Rook...I am new to the Forum (as far as posting or asking questions). I have a 2010 Escape XLT. I am very interested in getting the Spyder headlights you have on your rig. How do you like them first of all? Second, are they HID/Xenon? I have installed Oracle LED Fog Lights, and have tossed around buying their LED Headlights. The Spyder lights seem so much better though. Thanks and I look forward to your response.

I like the spyders, they are halogen out of the box but people use HID in them.
