Photobucket pulls the plug - Read it and weep

If you start seeing nothing where there used to be images in threads there is a reason, If you hot link an image from your photobucket account to a forum they want $399 a year. I need a drink. Luckily for the last couple of years I've been just inserting images here but on a lot of old threads I used the photobucket approach.

Yep, good reason to pull the plug on photobucket, unfortunately they've ruined a lot of blogs and forums with this move. I hope they rot, wherever

I pay $12/yr for Tapatalk. They provide unlimited hoisting for paying members. Any image I need, I send them to my phones, then added or amend a post with the image. Almost all of my posts will have "edited at x time" for this reason.

I've had no problems, but I also don't store many photos on photobucket. Might have something to do with the amount of storage you use. My links are still working.

Well I guess I'll keep using it until I can't, though I've been growing unhappy with photobucket recently. It has way too many pop ups an ads that slow down my computer when I use it. The app has also been a bit buggy Ive noticed

If it is still working for you, if you care about what you have there, better start downloading your albums. It doesn't go real well, takes awhile to do more than a few at a time before it just dies.

They hid it in a terms of service update, that went out quite a few days after they started terming picture hosting for those with any amount of traffic.

Beware of fake news. I always use photobucket iOS app and it works perfectly and still working, you can see all my pictures on this forum since 2009

On active sites, or people that have frequently accessed technical articles or how to articles, or even posts that get more than 4 visits a day, images in signatures.

I was able to get all of mine before mine was locked, if you don't care about your images, then disregard. I had a couple tech article posts and it didn't take long to get locked, 3 days before the terms of service update, but I heeded information from others about what was going to happen.
