So I was eventually, after two calls to Ford corporate, able to bring my E in for the recall inspection. The good news is it's roadworthy. The bad news? I'm now chasing down a misfire issue. There's always something exciting with high mileage vehicals!

My question is are they still going to replace parts if it is safe or not rusted?

Anybody got pics of these failing parts?

Any FORD dealer in any state should honor the recall

actually, the ford dealers around me rather you NOT bring it in immediately. They were very happy when I told them i couldn't bring mine in for 3 weeks after I move.

The recall number for the Tribute is 7514D. NHTSA Campaign No. 14V-174.
It is the same recall for corrosion on the subframe where the control arm attaches.

You dont need a letter to get the part installed. All you need is to call any dealer and give them your VIN and they can schedule it with no recall notice. I did!

Got my recall letter in the mail on Monday (June 9th) for my 2001.
Gave the local Ford dealer a call and they told me that there wasn't a need to bring it in, and that they would just give me a call when the parts arrived.
They also told me that there was another recall from a while ago that had something to do with the seat belt buckle covers that hasn't been done on mine yet, so they said they would go ahead and order those parts too.
