Stay tuned, mine is going in Thursday 2/15/18.

2+ years ago when I took it in for the TB SFTWR update, I got it back 2 weeks later with a newly remanufactured engine.....

Well, the engine was knocking at 30K miles, so they just replaced the whole thing.

Anyway, time for the new flange.

So, I had the work done today.
Good news: appears to be a non-issue, everything works as intended.
Bad news: 2 items surfaced during the check-up.
1. My 19K miles, 32 month old engine has mysteriously sprung an oil leak of
the "significant" type. (Nothing on my garage floor, but this time of year, snow & salt scrum
in the garage make it hard to see)
2. Coolant is "dirty" and needs flushing.
Hmmm. It was replaced at Engine swap-out. Dealer, who replaced the engine, didn't know he
replaced it at the check-up time, but I told him about the replacement, and now it's no longer "dirty".

Regardless, made another appt. next Monday, to have them put some dye in the oil, and find the leak.

Now, I do all of my own oil changes/maintenance, so I'll look at the bottom end this weekend,
and decide if I really want to take it back.
Service guy said there should be a 3 year warranty on the motor, but I recall the Service Order
stating only 2 years. I also still have the extended warranty from Ford until Aug. 2018,
so not a big deal I hope.
To this point, I've been satisfied with the remanufactured engine, and the install, but,
I'm kind of leary about going back.

I wanted to update this in case anybody had the same issue. Took it back to the dealership & they said there was air trapped in it. Installed new clamp & so far so good. Hoping that's the end of it.

Just had the work done today. Sure enough, it had to crank about 3-4 times as long to start. Bummer. The mechanic either damaged the barbs on the fuel supply port or didn't use to proper clamp pliers and procedure. I even gave the service manager the printout concerning the issue. If the barbs are damaged, then I would think a new fuel module will have to be installed. I hope this isn't going to be something I have to take up with Ford Canada.

Hmmm, you're not having good luck at all. :worry:

3 months in, mine starts right up, never a long crank.

They've been known to do shoddy work before. When I questioned whether or not they could do it properly, they asked if I wanted to decline the recall. Obviously not. Now I wish I had.

Found this:

"Subsequent repairs should be claimed as related damage, not service part warranty."

When I took mine back Ford was really good about correcting the issue and it's been fine since
