Well, the time has come to trade my wife's 03' XLT in. Somewhere around 210k+ on the clock. It's tired and we could use a larger vehicle.

After weighing the options and family requirements...looks like we'll be shopping for a Flex AWD. Non EcoBoost for many reasons. I'm not buying new being the biggest.

Slim pickings for AWD versions right now obviously. I found a couple of possible options at local lots.

I really feel for your wife

I broke my leg before and 2 years ago I broke my knee and had surgery resulting in me taking blood thinners.

I broke several sections of the OEM original engine air filter while slamming it against the wall to clean it, so I replaced it at 57k miles with an STP one from Autozone.

Drove it. It has sat for 2 weeks as my wife had surgery and won't be driving for another 2 months, but I prefer to drive my old car. However no heat plus parked outside plus 32 degree temps (which is 20 degrees lower than most of the overnight lows this "winter") I had to get it out and run it. It will probably get 100 miles in the next 2 months, unless I blow up my car (which could happen).

The speaker in the driver's side door was buzzing, so took the Escape to Car Toys. They installed two Quinn Q6822 5x7 speakers in about 50 minutes. The speakers sound great for middle-of-the-road boxes. Not top of the line, but not trash, either. $236 out the door for the speakers, installation and a 4-year extended warranty.
