Has anyone else experienced large space gaps between an image reference and a bbcode table?

I have no idea. Will turn this over to our Admin and his techie minions.
Think we got this worked out at least for the first example you presented.

Here is a quote from our Admin:

I checked around with the bbcode, and did a little research into it. Seems it was a common enough problem, and has to do with how the bbcode for tables works. Instinct wants you to post them like they would display in the thread, with the bbcode for each line on a separate linem but all those new lines is what's causing the white space. By deleting them, removing all gaps between the bbcode in the post, the empty space vanishes

It's that what the tr tag is for? Table Row?

Yes. the "tr" tag is HTML-ese for table row.
Should I change how I write my tables then?
OK, I figured it out. I can add new lines after each row while I am working out the table. Then when I am done, I just have to remove all the Carriage returns and new lines from each row.
Fix: Concatenate each table row.
