2004 Escape XLT: Squealing Noise When Rolling Slowly

Postby Rocinante - November 21st, 2020, 1:55 pm

I hear squealing noises when rolling slowly.
Is this usually the front or rear brakes?

The front brakes are high quality ceramic with only 25,000 miles on them.
They are about six years old.

I also adjusted the rear drum brakes six years ago.

Do I need to just re-lubricate them?

Hey this is a Ford Escape Gen 1.0. 25000 miles is a lot for her brake parts, so take your time and give your old Rosinante the care that she needs.

Besides, it may be just a piece of crap stuck between a disk and the shield. This car needs a yearly thorough inspection and cleaning of its brakes.

Don't worry the next generations don't do any better.
