2008 XLT Stereo Wiring Color Diagram

Hey all, I joined quite some time back for some assistance with an aftermarket headunit. Well I've had it installed for a while now and am running in to some issues recently. If the stereo is on for any bit of a distance (30+ minute ride) it completely shuts off, loses all memory (indicating that it lost the constant power) and then will continue shutting off/restarting.

When I originally installed the unit, the wiring harness did not work properly - the dimmer and the switch both do not match up, in fact, the prongs on the wiring harness don't even go anywhere on the stock plug. That was fine, using an electric meter I found a wire to tap into that was an ignition switch (used the heater turn on wire, it is the solid white one going to the heating knobs for anyone who wants to know  ). I figured the harness did not line up because I went the cheapest route possible, and so I accepted that and was OK with the setup.

Now, with these random turn off's, I'm trying to narrow down whether or not it has to do with the cheap harness. I have a 2008 Escape XLT, no stock amp, no sync, no navigation . I ordered a new Metra 70-5520 that was supposed to fit my car, and it is identical to the harness I had previously. I could hook it up like I previously did and tap into another switch, but I've never had the dimming working and this time around I want to take my time and do it right. I can remove the pins on the harness and re-arrange it to match the stock plug, BUT, I can't find an accurate color diagram!

The ones I find online (after searching on here and on google) are as follows:
Car Radio Battery Constant 12v+ Wire: White/Red
Car Radio Accessory Switched 12v+ Wire: Black/Gray
Car Radio Ground Wire: Violet/Red
Car Radio Illumination Wire: Red/Yellow
Car Stereo Dimmer Wire: Red/Green
Car Stereo Antenna Trigger Wire: N/A
Car Stereo Amp Trigger Wire: Violet/Red
Car Stereo Amplifier Location: N/A
Car Audio Front Speakers Size: N/A
Car Audio Front Speakers Location: N/A
Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): White
Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): White/Brown
Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): White/Violet
Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): White/Orange
Car Audio Rear Speakers Size: N/A
Car Audio Rear Speakers Location: N/A
Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): White/Green
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown/Yellow
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): Brown/White
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown/Blue

This does not match my vehicle at all... attached below is a picture of what my stock plugs look like:

Does anyone have an accurate color diagram so I can get this thing hooked up right?

I appreciate your help!

Have you tried to look it up at the12volt.com?

I have, they do not have one listed for the Stereo Diagram. I found one for a wireless ignition, which some wires match up but not all. I also went under a 2008 Mazda Tribute since most of the hardware is the same, and found this: http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/for ... ?tid=99352 however, it is the same one listed for the wireless ignition on the 2008 Escape, so that doesn't help.

I also did a forum search on there and couldn't find an accurate one. I'd be willing to use a circuit tester and narrow down what wire does what for future reference, but mine recently broke. If I need to purchase a new one, I can, just trying to avoid that!

I did find this Crutchfield article that seems to be pretty accurate, could anyone tell me why they do not want you to use the 12V Start wire (pin 22)?

According to Crutchfield, it appears that a lot of the wires I need are in the other plug, which makes this a pain!

If someone knows about a compatible harness, I'm not opposed to buying another. I was unable to find one that has two separate plugs to make everything work properly. I may have to get creative. I don't want to cut any of the stock wires, though.

Try using a

Ford Data Interface with SWC 2007-Up
