Illumination wire/sensor?

Postby dps1982 - August 16th, 2020, 10:38 am

Does anyone know where the sensor is located that powers the illumination wire? I’m finding that the car thinks it’s nighttime way too often. This results in the maps being inverted during the daytime.

I’m wondering if the sensor can be replaced or adjusted. Otherwise I may want to wire the illumination wire to the positive wire but I’m worried that there may be other undesired consequences of that.

Depends on the year, but it is probably a bubble thing on your dash, so be sure it isn't covered up partially (dash mat) or with things like papers. I don't know if it is like my 2017, it uses difference sensors for auto headlamps and for the SYNC 3/Nav screen.
