Center bore (Taurus Wheels)

Postby Saint203 - July 21st, 2020, 5:48 pm

I’m looking at a set of 2013 Ford Taurus SHO wheels that are dirt cheap and easily repairable (and a good excuse to buy a powder coating machine.) After doing something research I found that the center bore of the wheels are 66.7mm while my 08 Escape has a hub at 67.1. This being said, is there any possibility that the wheels will slide onto my hub or will I have to get them drilled.

I think you will find that the Taurus center more is even smaller than they number you out there. I tried a set on my 2012 Fusion (67.1 center bore) and no way they would work. I think they have the same center bore as my 1997 Cougars and Mark VIII at 63.4mm.

A competent machinist can fix that, but I found it difficult to get any wheels or brake rotors machined (converting rotors to 5x108 from 5x114.3) no one wanted to do work... I slotted them myself with a air tool, and the bore didn't matter as long as it was bigger on the wheel than the hub (as they have tapered lugs that are lug centric).
