Probably hasn't been used in two or three years. I replaced the dead battery with a new one. Still nothing. The local dealer tells me they need a working remote in order to program a new one. So I need to buy 2 new remotes at $500.00 each. Is there some way around spending $1k to get her back on the road? Thanks
So it is probably a Titanium with Intelligent Access? Can you use the key inside to open the door? Have you tried holding the key up to the steering column then pressing the start button to start it?
I don't know if a locksmith will have much luck if it is the IA/push button start. I also don't know if Forscan can be used to do this on your own.
Mine have the IKT and need the key to start and they are pretty easy to do.
Aftermarket IA/smart fobs can be gotten for around $30. But it would still probably require at least a locksmith to program it (and hopefully not just clone it) if you can use the dead one as the second one. Odd that a new battery didn't bring it back to life. But it shouldn't need a battery when held against the steering column I assume that it energizes the RFID chip with it there.
