someone isn't happy sitting...

So for the 4th or 5th time this year, my wifes Escape has messaged me telling me that it doesn't like sitting doing nothing for 2 weeks. Looks like I have to go start it up, wash it, and it will go back into use next week.

Most cars batteries do well when they sit for too long. If it's going to sit for more than week, use a battery tender. You can get an adapter that allows it to be plugged into an active accessory power outlet, if on exits on the 2017.

It is an active outlet if my memory is correct. Wife and I used it to power a 12 volt cooler for those trips in the summer.

Seems like all the 12v power points are always powered, yes. The front console, cargo area, and if you do not have the 120v power point at the back of the center console. The 120v power point is switched, only on when vehicle is in run.

Actually, according to page 120 of the 2016 Ford Escape Owner Manual, it says:
When you first turn the engine off, the 12 Volt plugs are powered as long as the Infotainment System is powered.
When you switch the ignition on, you can use the socket to power 12 volt appliances with a maximum current rating of 15 amps.

Pretty sure the 12v power points are always powered, 120v only when the ignition is not off, and the USB ports are on only when ignition is not off. Some Fords the power points are on for a certain time (Gen2 Fusions for example), but unlike most Asian makes, they are not switched.
I have a solar maintainer I could plug in and try, as it has a light that shows power (from either end, car or from solar).
