Hello! Brand new to here, can't wait to see some cool topics regarding these escapes!

I have a 2014 Escape 1.6L and a 2024 Escape HEV.
Currently running 225/55R19 factories for the 2024, curious to know what would be the biggest size for this vehicle, since they look much more "handle-able".
I've seem wheel-size.com, going to step it up a notch and try these 265/40R21's when they come in. Will probably change tires to 245/40R21, but let's see!
Anyone running anything bigger?

Nice to meet you all!

welcome to the city.
There's no way those are going to fit without a lift kit… Probably need rims with a crazy offset/wicked backspacing.
I don't believe a lift kit has been made for fifth generation yet.
I went with a 235/55/19, they don't rub, and they look great.

I haven't done the math, but you're talking about sticking a 32–33 inch OD tire on your vehicle.
OE is about 28 OD.

I will tell you in the winter that I like having some room in the wheelwells to be able to get the barnacles out after a snow… With the tire totally stuffed in there, I can't imagine it would be fun. You would hear the ice rubbing on the tire all the time

of course, you could live in Miami… lol
Honestly, I would say your best bet is to find somebody with giant rims, and ask him/her what they did

I used to follow other jeeps, and motorcycles into parking lots so I could talk to them about their vehicles. I haven't done that since Covid panic happened.
I still see vehicles I would like to follow, and talk to the owner ( :

The size isn't a drastic difference. It is roughly 0.6 bigger in diameter than stock. The only think I'm worried about is the width of the tires. I know an escape can fit a 255 wide tire, which i can change the 265 tire when the time comes, but these 21" wheels are 9" wide. Stocks are 8" wide, once I get the wheels in my hand then I can see but not sure if I'll need spacers or if 9" wide would work anyways.. the 21" and high positive offsets, if they had some less offset, I wouldn't be too worried about this issue.

Will keep updated when the tires are in my hand.

Well everyone, I finally picked up the tires, and i can tell you.. they work great! Granted these are used tires so tread is less, have about 3 summers left on them. They fit nice when bolted on, the rummer itself is 265/40R21, and there is about 1 fingers width more that goes under the front strut. It still has lots of room before it makes contact with it, I've went over speed bumps fast and slow with it, there is no contact which is great. There is also no rubbing, 1 fingers-width between the tire and wheel well when they are turned in each direction.
Steering has gotten stiffer as imaginable, because these tires are more wider. But it drives still very good and don't have any complaints in regards of comfortability.
These are high positive offset wheels which are factory Ford Edge Sport wheels (2015+) and they are the same bolt patten, same center bore as the ford escape. So even with this though, the tires are now flush with the side of the vehicle (no longer 'tucked in' a bit from the outside of the wheel well.) Don't get me wrong, I was worried about the offset too but I'm surprised it's all good.)

Hope this helps other people out too!
