Hello everyone. I am in a tight pinch and need some help.. most of you may know about the notorious CD4E cv axle support bushing and I am having a hard time finding the correct one. I even went to ford and the looked at me like I was crazy.. all of my research says that ford did in fact made a kit for the newer escape and did not give a rats *** about the older escapes.

2002 Ford Escape XLT 4x4

Here's a breakdown of the cd4e..
http://postimg.org/image/refhzir7l/ ( secondary link in case first one doesn't work http://www.makcotransmissionparts.com/m ... f/CD4E.pdf )

I ordered 076 case seal, 064 bushing and even 032 bushing just in case it was it.
# 96076 Seal, Axle, CD4E
# 86064 Bushing AXOD / AXODE rear case
Rear Case, Final Drive Output Support also CD4E case
# 96032 Bushing CD4E.Converter Reactor
.935"ID (stator)

076 is correct but 064 diameter is too big.

I know a bushing did come out of the case because it came out all destroyed and unable to get measurements off it.

I also seen threads where people actually find the bushing but never update or post without the part number.

All out of ideas.. anything is appreciated.

I am all out of ideas and need help to get the truck back running.

Thank you.

Try looking at this PDF:

http://www.shinseiauto.com/japanese/transtar/04.pdf

the part #'s seem to change after the 01 model year.

96063 ref 85014 in the PDF...

I know nothing. As you can see in the PDF, the CD4E was used in a lot of FoMoCo/Mazda products. And then the Escape trio was added. Sure can amortize the engineering and tooling costs...
Anyway, the diagrams all are poor, IMO.

Look here for reference and diameter of the 96063 & 96063B parts:

I don't want to rain on the parade but good luck finding the output shaft bushing or output shaft case bushing that fits.

I tried several places including Makco and never found a bushing that was correct. They're all either too big or too deep.

One thing I didn't try was contacting this guy through his youtube channel:

He is a pro and his videos helped me with the Valve Body modifications I made on the Escape CD4E and my Mustang 5R55S transmission and valve body.

If anyone would know where to find the right bushing or the right part number, I would think he would.

Happy hunting!
