Sorry you are having issues with your Hybrid. I don’t know enough about the Neutral towing system to offer any constructive advice. Initiate a Private Conversation with me if you don’t get help and I will move this thread to our Problems and Solutions forum.

I am not sure why you can drive your Escape if it is flat tow mode.

How far away is home? Have you tried disconnecting the 12V battery, to see if you can reset it?
I would say you have a glitch, but that you're able to drive it means it is not truly stuck in neutral tow mode.
Is your FordPass app telling you anything?

 

We are having the same issue. What was your remedy? Our Ford Pass has shown no faults. We towed about 4 hours yesterday and when we got to our destination, battery was dead. We jumped it and it started right up and drove fine but instrument panel said it was in neutral tow, even though we were driving it. When we tried to tow it the next day, I couldn't get it IN neutral tow since it thought it already was. 🤔
