And the most important.... How much this little project cost you total?

It'S always fun to know how much it is to have a project like that.<

I'd love love to have a garage to play on a project car one day...

I've probebly got as much into the car as I can sell it for. It was about $2000 to buy the car and rebuild and upgrade the motor (chip, cams, intake, exhaust), $800 wheels and tires, $700 in stereo upgrades and other parts/ repairs. What I hated was almsot $500 to register it! Still needs shocks and springs, new tint and a few minor fixes and I will be done modding her. I wish I could paint her again too but I probebly won't bother. Fun to drive and only $25 a month for insurance! Slightly better gas mileage than the Escape too.

Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Seriously??? A rate like that isn't possible for a bicycle in NJ... :bill:

i think 2000$ to 3000$ is VERY good to get a car that looking good and with engine you know what as been done on it.

It's always good when you can do the most by yourself, That'S money in your pocket...

grats on that one...

What do you really think? If you like it that much I might have to drive out to Texas and give you a ride! :shades:

I finally got around to changing the shocks and struts in the Jetta, I'm pretty sure they were the factory original ones. They were all bad, I have some KYBs in there now, much better. I also took the liberty of lowering the car. My friend figured out how to cut springs :stop: I know, they say cutting the springs heats the metal, then ruins the temper and takes the "spring" out of the spring. So all we have to do is cut it without heating it, which we do by cutting with a pneumatic grinder while spraying the springs with a water hose. I keep my hand on the coil, it never even gets warm. The front was higher than the rear originally, so I cut more out of the front than the rear. I've got to drive it some, make sure they completely settle to see if it's at the proper ride height (I'm looking for a gap about two fingers tall, it was over 3 when I started). I'll take some pics once I'm happy with the height. And don't worry, I had a computerized alignment done again after I lowered it (lifetime alignment, so I get it done after any suspension or steering work).

Here's a quick snapshot of the Jetta at a gas station, the sun was hitting it just right so you could see the tires and wheel gap very clearly. Looks like it's still a touch high in the back. The car is so low now I can look down on the roof

Gotta get that tint changed though...

And I'm going to get her a paint job next year, too many scuffs and clearcoat thinned out. Same Silver Arrow color I think.

I like the ford at the bottom :) that's a cool project. yeah make the windows darker, silver arrow? what's that haha. it's silver, you post the output! I'm planning to restore the same car. hmmmm goodluck bro :))

Alright, looks like a made a bit of a mistake. I shuffled around pics in Photobucket and now I can't edit old posts so all my links are not longer good. I'll do the short and sweet version now:
